What GOONR collects, what it deliberately does not, and what you can do about it. Written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
Effective 4 September 2026. Last updated 4 September 2026.
The short version
GOONR keeps as little about you as it can while still working. Your exact location is never stored. Your photos are stripped of metadata before they are uploaded. Your conversations are not recorded, analysed, or used to train anything.
There is no advertising on this platform, and your data is not sold, rented, or shared with data brokers.
What you give us
When you sign in with Google or X, we receive your email address and the account identifier from that provider. We do not receive your password, and we cannot post anything as you.
What you put on your profile: a handle, a display name, your age, an optional bio, tags, what you are here for, an optional area name, and up to 10 photos.
What you do on the platform: board posts, messages, taps, blocks, reports, and which profiles you have viewed.
Location, specifically
If you turn on distance, your device gives us a coordinate. Before that coordinate is written to the database it is rounded to a grid roughly 150 metres across. The precise value is discarded and never stored.
Other users never receive a coordinate at all. They receive a distance, and that distance is bucketed — under 400 m, then to the nearest 100 m, then to the nearest tenth of a kilometre, and coarser as it grows. Nothing we send is precise enough to triangulate where you are.
You can turn distance off entirely in your profile settings, and you can revoke location permission in your browser at any time.
Photos
Photos are resized and re-encoded in your browser before they are uploaded. That process discards EXIF metadata, including any GPS coordinates your camera embedded — which would otherwise defeat everything described above.
Photos you upload are stored in our media bucket and served over a public URL. Anyone with that URL can view the file, so treat a photo as visible to anyone you show it to. Deleting a photo removes it from storage.
Messages and VOX
Messages are stored so they can be delivered and so you can read them again. They are not scanned for advertising, not analysed for profiling, and not used to train any model. There is no AI anywhere in this product.
VOX voice notes are recorded on your device only when you press record, capped at 60 seconds, and stored the same way a photo is. There is no live video, and no call, session or screen is ever recorded by the platform.
A moderator can read a specific message only when it has been reported to them.
Who else processes your data
Supabase hosts the database, authentication and file storage. Vercel hosts the application and processes requests.
Stripe handles payments if you subscribe. Stripe receives your payment details directly — we never see or store a card number. We store only the customer and subscription identifiers Stripe gives back to us.
Google and X handle sign-in. They know you authenticated with us; they do not receive your activity on the platform.
Cookies
Two things are stored in your browser. A cookie recording that you confirmed you are 18 or over, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in.
There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no analytics that follow you across other sites.
How long things are kept
Board posts expire after 72 hours and are deleted permanently 30 days after that.
Records of who viewed your profile are deleted after 90 days. Internal rate-limiting counters are deleted after two hours.
Messages are kept until you or the other person deletes their account.
Deleting your account
Deleting your account wipes your profile, photos, bio, tags and posts, and removes you from the grid and the board immediately.
Conversations you were part of stay with the other person, with your side blanked. We cannot delete their copy of a conversation without destroying their record of it too.
If there is an open moderation report involving your account, the record of that report is retained until it is resolved.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your information. Most of it you can change yourself in the app; account deletion is in Settings.
Depending on where you live you may also have the right to a copy of your data, to object to processing, or to complain to a regulator. Write to privacy@goonr.live and we will respond.
Under 18
GOONR is strictly for adults. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.
If we learn an account belongs to a minor it is removed immediately. If you believe a minor is using this platform, report it in the app — those reports pull the content before a human reviews them.
Security
Access to your data is enforced in the database itself, not only in the application, so a bug in the interface does not expose another user's rows.
No system is perfect. If you find a vulnerability, please report it to us before disclosing it publicly.
[LEGAL ENTITY — set before launch] is the controller of this information. Questions or requests: privacy@goonr.live. If this policy changes materially you will be told in the app before the change takes effect.
